Kane Williamson, New Zealand's former captain, will miss the second Test against India in Pune as he continues to recover from a groin strain, as confirmed by New Zealand Cricket on Tuesday, October 22. The injury, sustained during New Zealand's Test series against Sri Lanka, kept Williamson out of the first Test in Bengaluru, which New Zealand won by 8 wickets. Williamson stayed back in New Zealand for his rehabilitation and is expected to return for the third Test in Mumbai, starting on November 1.

Head coach Gary Stead shared optimism about Williamson's recovery: "Kane is progressing well, but he's not yet fully fit. We're hopeful he'll be available for the third Test. We’re taking a cautious approach to ensure he returns at full strength."

With Williamson missing from the lineup for the second Test, New Zealand will need to maintain their momentum after their historic victory in Bengaluru, which marked the team’s first Test win in India in 36 years.

As fans and analysts await the second Test starting on October 24, Reddy Anna match predictions will be closely followed to assess New Zealand’s chances of securing another win without their star batsman.
